Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Edition Market Debut Shared Here
On April 20 this year the Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Lidar Edition officially entered the Chinese market, positioning itself as a high-tech contender in the RMB150,000 to 200,000 mid-size SUV segment.
The Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Edition is developed through a collaboration between Deepal Auto (an NEV brand of Changan Automobile) and Huawei. It is the first vehicle in its class to integrate Huawei Qiankun smart driving technology
The primary value proposition of this new vehicle is the integration of the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 Pro driving assistance suite, offering consumers a premium intelligent driving experience at an accessible price point.





Hardware Innovation & Perception Capabilities
The Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Edition features a comprehensive 27-sensor fusion perception system. The hardware array includes one solid-state Limera architecture Lidar, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. This setup builds a 360-degree environment sensing system without blind spots.
A notable technical highlight is the industry-first “one lens, dual mode” shared-path optical architecture used in the Lidar system. This design allows laser and visible light to be received through the same lens, accurately separating and fusing image textures with 3D point cloud data.
According to Deepal, this approach solves the spatial-temporal alignment issues found in traditional solutions. The detection distance for small targets (up to 30cm) is increased by up to 43% compared to conventional industry Lidar, allowing the vehicle to accurately identify small road obstacles such as gravel or dropped parts.
Software Intelligence & Safety Systems
On the software level, the S07 relies on the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.1 WEWA architecture. This system leverages cloud computing power and shared algorithms to facilitate continuous learning and iterative updates.
The intelligence suite covers three core scenarios: Urban NCA, Highway NCA, and Campus NCA (via future OTA updates). High-level functions include intelligent roundabout navigation, unprotected left/right turns, “off-vehicle” parking, and tracking reverse capabilities.
Reliability metrics for the system are robust, with the Highway NCA achieving an average intervention distance exceeding 1,500 kilometers. This performance ensures a mature “ready-to-use” smart driving experience even in complex urban environments.
For safety, the S07 is equipped with the CAS 4.0 all-dimensional anti-collision system, which includes 20 active safety functions to provide comprehensive protection for occupants and pedestrians.
