Surprising news just in that super luxury brand Rolls-Royce has officially launched the new Spectre Series II electric car and immediately lowering its official selling price across multiple global markets. The first version arrived in Malaysia in September 2022 with a tax free price from just RM2 Million.
In North America (USA) the starting price drops from USD420,000 to USD398,000 which is a reduction of 5.7%. In the UK, it falls from £365,000 to £333,000 (down 8.7%), while in Germany, the price decreases from €439,000 to €395,000, which is a cut exceeding 10%.
In China, the official manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the Spectre Series II now ranges from RMB 5.15 million to RMB 5.45 million. Compared to the initial Chinese-spec model’s starting price of RMB 5.75 million, this represents a nominal price reduction of RMB300,000 to RMB600,000.
Additionally, high-frequency optional features which was previously requiring added cost and valued between RMB600,000 and RMB1 million, such as two-tone paint finishes and bespoke embroidery are now being offered as standard across all trims.
Factoring in these changes, the Spectre Series II’s effective total price reduction in China reaches RMB1 million to RMB1.5 million. As a fully electric vehicle, the Spectre is exempt from China’s 40% luxury consumption tax on large-displacement vehicles, further expanding room for price adjustments.
Following this new price revisions, the Spectre per-unit profit margin continues to exceed that of both the Ghost and Cullinan models, making it Rolls-Royce’s most profitable model.
