Chery puts the finishing touches on their upcoming Lembah Beringin smart auto industrial park.
Chery Corporate Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Chery”) has officially marked a major milestone in its regional expansion strategy with the successful topping-out ceremony of Phase 1 of the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park.
Located in Lembah Beringin, Selangor, this milestone signifies the structural completion of Chery’s newest assembly plant. Set to become the automaker’s largest facility in Malaysia, the state-of-the-art industrial park reinforces Chery’s long-term commitment to the local automotive industry and solidifies Malaysia’s position as a strategic regional hub for Southeast Asia.

The symbolic placement of the final roof tile was witnessed by esteemed guests, including the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, and the Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility, YB Ng Sze Han, alongside Chery’s senior management team.
A RM2.2 Billion Investment to Drive ASEAN Expansion
Spanning an impressive 200 acres, the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park represents a massive RM2.2 billion investment. The facility is engineered to support Chery’s rapidly growing multi-brand portfolio in Malaysia, which currently includes:
- Chery
- OMODA
- JAECOO
- iCAR
- Lepas (upcoming brand)

Driven by surging consumer demand, brand recognition, and rising market confidence, this new facility will exponentially enhance Chery’s capabilities across vehicle assembly, automotive innovation, and customer delivery.
Anchoring Selangor’s New “Automotive Valley”
The industrial park is strategically positioned along Selangor’s automotive corridor. Construction began swiftly following its groundbreaking ceremony in 2025, and the project remains firmly on track, with full operations expected to commence next year.

Speaking at the event, Menteri Besar of Selangor, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, highlighted the transformative economic impact of the project:
“This new chapter for Lembah Beringin, with Chery Malaysia as one of its anchors, can spur the town forward by rapidly developing new supply chains, reducing business operation and travel times, and ultimately creating better-quality jobs for Selangorians.”
Furthermore, Selangor State Executive Councillor YB Ng Sze Han revealed ambitious state plans to establish a dedicated, comprehensive automotive valley spanning Serendah and Lembah Beringin.
“Our ambition is to have a complete automotive city—where carmakers, component suppliers, research, and training sit side by side, and where the supply chain is built and kept here in Selangor. Chery’s arrival is the first major step towards that vision,” Ng added.
Future Outlook: Operational Readiness by Next Year
With the structural framework now complete, Phase 1 of the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park will immediately progress to interior fit-outs, advanced system installations, and operational readiness testing.
The facility is poised to deliver significant macroeconomic benefits to Malaysia, including high-skilled job creation, local vendor development, and technical skills advancement, effectively integrating local suppliers into the global automotive value chain.

Michael Chew, Senior Director of Product Strategy and Fleet Sales at Chery Corporate Malaysia, concluded:
“Today’s topping-out ceremony reflects not only the progress of this project, but also our strong confidence in the Malaysian market and its potential as a regional hub. This plant is set to become a cornerstone of Chery’s long-term growth strategy in the region.”
As Chery accelerates its momentum, the Lembah Beringin plant will serve as the heartbeat of its multi-brand ecosystem, delivering next-generation, high-quality mobility solutions to consumers across Malaysia and the broader ASEAN market.
