GWM Malaysia has recorded its strongest-ever first-half operational performance, delivering 3,166 vehicles across the first six months of 2026.
GWM Malaysia has had a pretty strong first half of 2026 with 3,166 cars registered so far. The total represents a 42.4% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to H1 2025, securing GWM’s position among the Top 11 best-selling automotive brands in Malaysia. Sales momentum accelerated between quarters, expanding from 1,294 units in Q1 to 1,872 units in Q2—a 44.7% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) jump.

Portfolio Performance Breakdown
Volume growth across the first half of the year was anchored by strong consumer demand across GWM’s multi-powertrain lineup:
• HAVAL H6 HEV: Delivered 895 units in Q2 (up from 656 in Q1), remaining GWM Malaysia’s top-volume model.
• WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV: Rose from 421 units in Q1 to 707 units in Q2, maintaining its lead as the top-selling luxury MPV among official OEM brands.
• ORA GOOD CAT EV: Recorded 93% QoQ sales growth, nearly doubling its quarterly volume.

GWM Malaysia also welcomed the Malaysian Government’s decision to postpone the implementation of PUA 402 tax adjustments, preserving existing vehicle pricing structures. Additionally, upcoming amendments to the Hire Purchase Act are expected to improve loan processing transparency and auto financing accessibility.
Strategic Touch ‘n Go MoU and Factory RFID Integration
To elevate the ownership experience, GWM Malaysia signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd.

Under the partnership, every new GWM vehicle booked and registered from 1 August 2026 onwards in Peninsular Malaysia will come equipped with a factory-fitted or bundled Touch ‘n Go x GWM Branded RFID tag as standard equipment. The initiative aims to support Malaysia’s Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) highway tolling infrastructure.

“At GWM, our focus extends beyond building great vehicles. We are continuously exploring opportunities to enhance the ownership experience through products, services and strategic collaborations that add meaningful value for our customers. Our collaboration with Touch ‘n Go reflects that commitment by combining automotive innovation with digital mobility solutions,” said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia.
