Audi A3 Sedan Launched From RM179,900 in Malaysia
Euromobil Sdn Bhd official importer and distributor of the Audi marque in the country today officially announces the arrival of the highly anticipated new Audi A3 Sedan. The dynamic four-door sedan, winner of the World car of the Year 2014 offers distinctive coupe-like design, powerful and highly efficient engine, thanks to Audi lightweight construction where many components are made of high-end hot-formed steel with aluminium bonnet, weighing just 1,250 kg.
Euromobil has brought in two petrol engine variants including the 1.4 TFSI® and the 1.8 TFSI® offered in the quattro all-wheel drive system, all of which bring together efficiency technologies including direct fuel injection, turbocharging, innovative thermal management and the start-stop system. Key performance parameters of the 1.4 TFSI® are 122 bhp and 200 Nm of torque with a combined fuel consumption of just 4.9 liters/100 kms, while CO2 is pared back to only 109 grams per km. Helped by the healthy 200 torque peak, the A3 Sedan 1.4 TFSI® takes 9.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h with top speed of 205 km/h.
The 1.8 TFSI® which is next in line produces 180hp and 250 Nm of torque with headline figures of a 6.8 seconds 0-100km/h sprint time and a 235km/h top speed. For even more dynamics and stability, the legendary quattro® permanent all-wheel drive comes as standard. Combined fuel economy is 6.6 liters fuel per 100km, equivalent to 152 grams of CO2 per km.
Both 1.4 TFSI® and 1.8 TFSI® are mated to S-tronic® transmission which provides the driver immense shifting flexibility and driving pleasure with smooth, dynamic acceleration and virtually no interruption to the power flow. Audi drive select system is fitted as standard in both variants allowing the driver to adjust throttle response, shift points, and the electromechanical steering effort. Similar to other Audi models, Audi drive select has four settings that include Auto, Dynamic, Comfort and Individual.
The Audi A3 sedan stretches 4,456mm in length and has a 2,637 mm wheelbase. Combined with its 1,796mm width and 1,416mm height, its proportions are compact yet sporty. The signature Singleframe® grille and the xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights which forms uniform contour of lights at the upper and lower edges are some of the notable highlights in the A3 sedan. The athletic exterior of the A3 extends inside, where Audi maintains its leading role in automotive interior design and craftsmanship. The defining element is the “wraparound” dash design, which incorporates an innovative three-dimensional inlay concept surrounding the driver and front passenger. The A3 delivers uncompromising prestige and high-quality materials with exceptional ergonomics. The MMI operating system has an electronically extending screen, its terminal housed in the console of the center dashboard. It features a 5.8 inch high resolution display screen and to further enhance the driving experience, the new MMI controls are conveniently positioned behind the gear shift. On top of that, the vehicle is also equipped with Audi Music Interface iPod connection, a Driver Information System and the Bluetooth mobile phone interface.
Euromobil also offers the full sport edition in the 1.8 TFSI®, which upgrades the sporty personality of the A3 sedan with leather covered 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, flat bottomed with shift paddles and luxurious alcantara perforated leather seats, including both interior and exterior S line packages and panoramic glass roof for an additional RM19,800.
Many more comfort, safety and convenience options can also be added, including the Audi pre sense basic system which helps detect when an emergency maneuver is being made and prepares the vehicle and its occupant restraint systems in advance of a possible collision, reverse camera and the Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Audi A3 Sedan 1.4 TFSI® is available from RM179,900 OTR or opt for the sportier 1.8 TFSI® quattro from RM240,888 OTR. The new Audi A3 Sedan will be showcased at One Utama Shopping Centre, High Street between 6th– 10th August with exciting games and giveaways awaits.
