‘Mercedes me connect’ Now in Malaysia, But What is it?

Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced a facelifted GLC range, which included the GLC 200, GLC 300 4MATIC and the GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé. But perhaps as important was the introduction of Mercedes me connect Services.

What is it?

‘Mercedes me connect’ is a service that connects your car to the internet, allowing for loads of functionality through an app on your smartphone or even Apple Watch!

What can you do with it?

There are LOADS of functions (which we listed below, or you can read all about here) but here are the most important features:

  • Information about the current vehicle status: fuel level, mileage, parking location and time
  • Find parking garages with prices, opening times and occupancy
  • “Cockpit”-Mode with live vehicle data, e.g. engine load, oil temperature and average speed
  • “Car Health Monitor” for fast support in case of warning lights from the vehicle

Good news! Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is also making a Mercedes me Adapter that ought to fit on most of their vehicles built after 2002. This will be available early next year. Simply have it connected to your vehicle’s OBD2 connector and you’ll get the following information/features on your app via Bluetooth:

  • Find parking garages with prices, opening times and occupancy
  • “Cockpit”-Mode with live vehicle data, e.g. engine load, oil temperature and average speed
