Meet the Lumma Design CLR G770 R

Even in its standard form, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a commanding presence on and off the road, but the people at Lumma Design want to show you that they can take that form and turn it into something even more intimidating with their latest creation called the CLR G770 R.

To make things clear, this is basically the R version of the CLR G770 introduced last year. It brings new front and rear bumper designs, egg-crate grille inserts, and roof-mounted lights. The wing extensions are now made of PUR-RIM plastic, which means the can be easily retrofitted to the SUV.

Customers can opt for the Performance+ and Sport+ packages to take customization even further. The latter adds a few more items including the gigantic hood scoop. The wide wheel arches, which add 70 mm to the overall width of the vehicle, are carried over to accommodate the 24-inch CLR 24 RS alloy wheels.

On top of the bodykit, Lumma also offers a sports exhaust system for the G63. It has two flap-controlled silincers and a total of six tailpipes that can be had in black or chrome. There are also sports exhaust systems with quad tailpipes for the G350d and 400d variants.

So, what do you think? Sure, this beast may not be to everyone’s liking but you have to admit that it has its own allure.

LUMMA Design expands its extensive refinement programme for the current Mercedes-Benz G-Class by the LUMMA CLR G770 R.

Masculine body components, wheel-arch-filling alloy wheels in 24-inch format as well as powerful sounding exhaust systems make the legendary off-roader the unmistakable King of the Road that cannot be overlooked or overheard.

More revolution than evolution:
The LUMMA CLR G770 R offers a multitude of technical and visual innovations compared to the previous model LUMMA CLR G770 (which of course is still available). The in-house designer completely redesigned the front and rear sections in particular: The front spoiler bumper and rear apron bumper impress with their even more expressive look and complement each other perfectly with the new rear door attachments, the design trim between the rear lights and the front grille with the additional daytime running lights. In addition, the wing extensions have received a technical improvement: These are now made of PUR-RIM plastic and can be screwed directly to the vehicle without gluing and can therefore be easily retrofitted. The production in PUR-RIM also ensures a precisely fitting assembly and reduces time-consuming and costly painting preparations. LUMMA optionally offers its body components made of the high-strength and ultra-light material carbon fibre. The visible carbon fibre structure intentionally evokes associations with motorsport.

Performance+ and Sport+ bring together additional options:
LUMMA has combined further refinement variants with price advantages in the Performance+ and Sport+ part packages: The latter includes, among other things, a spare wheel cover, front grille frame, front emblem, roof trim with additional headlights, rear roof spoiler and the distinctive bonnet attachment.

Alloy wheels up to 24 inches:
LUMMA offers various wheel designs and sizes specially tailored to the distinct requirements of the Mercedes. The 24-inch CLR 24 RS alloy wheel is a highlight in terms of styling and technology. The dynamic design of its spokes does not only give a striking, sports look, but is also responsible for an even load distribution and thereby guarantees loads of up to 970 kg per wheel. LUMMA recommends tyres with dimensions of 295/30-24″ on the front axle and 355/25-24″ on the rear axle.

A powerful sound from six tailpipes:
A sporty, powerful sounding sports exhaust system was specially developed for the G63. The two flap-controlled rear silencers adorn its flanks with three black or three chrome-plated stainless steel tailpipes on each side and these stage the V8 Biturbo engine with a powerful sound. For the G350d and 400d models, LUMMA offers sports exhaust trims that are reminiscent of the large top model with two black tailpipes on the left and right.

The conversion with painting takes place at LUMMA directly in the in-house specialist workshop or by means of one of the worldwide partner workshops.

The LUMMA CLR G770 R refinement programme is now available.
