Modenas Elegan 250 ABS Launched At RM15,315

Modenas today announced the launch of the new Elegan 250 ABS maxi-scooter. Priced at RM15,315, it is powered a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine displacing 250 cc that is mated to a CVT. The fuel engine makes 22 hp (16.5 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 22.4 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Having established itself in the street bike and moped segments, the local motorcycle manufacturer is seeking to recapture the ever-growing scooter segment with their latest offering.

As suggested by the name, the Elegan comes standard with a dual-channel ABS which can prevent the brakes from locking up under heavy load. The system supplements the 260mm front disc and 240mm rear disc brakes.

Other standard equipment includes projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, X-shaped tail lamp, a multi-function digital speedometer and a USB charger socket.

The Elegan 250 ABS is available at all Modenas authorised dealerships nationwide starting this month. There are two colours to choose from – Satin Matte Red and Satin Matte Black.

Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), today launched the ABS variant of the Modenas Elegan 250 maxi-scooter, priced at RM15,315, making it the most value-for-money scooter in its segment.

While the look and feel of the new Modenas Elegan 250 with ABS may not differ too much from its predecessor, this variant offers a number of upgrades.

Advanced Technology
The new Modenas Elegan 250 ABS comes with a fuel injected, 4 stroke and single-cylinder, SOHC 250cc engine that produces a maximum power of 16.5 kW @ 7000 rpm and 22.4 Nm @ 6500 rpm of torque. It has a liquid cooling system for improved cooling performance, providing its engine with better protection and longer durability.

The ABS variant also offers a multi-functional digital speedometer that does not compromise on visibility of information and plus, some of these features are unavailable for even higher-priced competitors such as, trip-meter, digital clock, battery voltage indicator and especially the oil service reminder for visual convenience.

Another very useful feature is a USB charger socket strategically fitted near the handlebar, allowing riders to charge their smart phones while on the go.

Top-notch safety features
The new maxi-scooter variant gets dual-channel ABS that prevents the wheels from locking up and provides superior stopping power in all weather conditions.

It is further equipped with a more refined and stylish projector headlamp with LED Daytime Running Light (“DRL”) that helps visibility for both the rider and other road users at any time of day, while the signature ‘X’ shaped tail lamp greatly enhances visibility of the machine during night time riding.

Premium Design with practicality in mind
The Modenas Elegan 250with ABS is designed with sophistication, comfort and practicality in mind. The maxi-scooter offers a large storage compartment which is big enough to fit two helmets, or anything else you might want to bring along for your short getaways or shopping trips. Its elevated seating provides additional comfort for both rider and pillion on long journeys while the floorboard is dynamically designed for a more flexible foot position that promises better comfort in all types of riding situations.

Apart from the improved performance and styling, the Modenas Elegan 250 ABS also offers a safer and more comfortable ride with high rigidity frame; and a trailing swing arm that gives the rider and pillion a more stable ride.

The Modenas Elegan 250 ABS comes in two chic colors – Satin Matte Red and Satin Matte Black; and is available at all MODENAS authorised dealers beginning November 2020.
