Four Injured After Bus Crashes Into Toll Booth Divider
Did the driver lose control of the bus?
An express bus travelling from the north was involved in an accident at the Ipoh Utara toll plaza of the North-South Expressway in Ipoh on Monday, 20 June 2022.
In the incident, the bus crashed into the toll booth divider at the toll plaza, causing four passengers to sustain minor injuries. It is reported that the bus was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the incident.
According to a spokesman for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the department received a distress call on the incident at 3.08pm.
A team of firemen from Meru Raya, assisted by personnel from the Ipoh station was despatched to the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Looking at the photos, the impact looks to have caused significant damage to the windshield and front left corner of the bus.
Victims were taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for further treatment but the condition of the bus driver has yet to be ascertained. The operation reportedly ended at 4.18pm.
