Hyundai Creta Gets 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating

This comes after two Hyundai models were assessed

Two of Hyundai’s latest SUV and MPV models were recently assessed by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) and one of  them was the Hyundai Creta SUV. These two models were also the first models under the brand that underwent the new ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 assessment protocol.

The Hyundai Creta performed almost perfectly and the results show as the car earned a full 5-star rating. The car also earned an overall score of 75.78 points overall which is an excellent score. Kudos to Hyundai for scoring so high with both vehicles the brand assessed and I hope the brand keeps it up.

Moreover, the Hyundai Creta SUV also achieved 34.72 points for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, 15.56 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 14.08 points for Safety Assist (SA) and 11.42 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS) category. These are impressive numbers.

On top of that, the Hyundai Creta is fitted with 2 airbags as standard but a majority of markets in SouthEast Asia offer 6 airbags. Among the contributing factors to the success of the car in this safety rating are the impressive list of safety features such as Electronic Stability Control, Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and many more.

Another stand out feature of the Hyundai Creta that ASEAN NCAP is happy the car includes and was a major factor behind the perfect 5-star rating is the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision- Avoidance Assist (RCCA) feature which is a technology fitment for motorcycle safety and child presence detection.

Additionally, the RCCA feature is an additional safety technology that Hyundai highlighted in the safety assessment in the Hyundai Creta SUV and it initially provides a warning alert to the driver but will also automatically assist with braking should the risk of collision increase.

Furthermore, both the Child Presence Detection (CPD) and RCAA are both offered as only an optional fitment but the availability of both these systems in the Hyundai Creta are paramount to the 5-star safety rating, this is why if one is considering buying this car, they should also get these two systems with it.

Now more than ever, safety is a key factor behind one’s choice in buying a car so ratings like the ASEAN NCAP are a great indicator as to which cars are safe and which cars we as buyers should prioritize over others. Remember, we can always make more money, but a life cannot be replaced.
