2023 Zeekr 001 Launched With Over 1,000KM EV Range
The 2023 Zeekr 001 starts from USD43,500 in China
Chinese carmaker, Zeekr started the new year on a high note by launching the all new 2023 Zeekr 001 electric vehicle (EV) hatchback in China on 1 January 2023. Four variants were launched with cruising ranges of 546km, 656km, 741km, and 1,032km, with prices ranging from RMB300,000 to RMB386,000 (USD43,500 to USD55,900).
Zeekr is a subsidiary of the familiar Geely brand and focuses solely on making premium EVs and since the 2023 Zeekr 001 is just a facelift model, it looks very similar to the previous model. So. Why is this EV not being offered in ASEAN countries? The car measures 4,970mm long, 1,999mm wide, 1,560mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,005mm.
Moreover, the 2023 Zeekr 001 also comes in three new body colors and those are orange, blue and night black. Meanwhile, the interior is minimalistic with an 8.8 inch digital driver display and a 14.7 inch infotainment screen. The seats are Nappa leather and come in either carbon black, nitrogen blue, platinum gray, and titanium brown.
What’s more, the 2023 Zeekr 001 also comes with a high-end YOU edition which offers an optional sports package which will set one back RMB35,000 (USD 5,000) and has 22-inch multi-spoke forged wheels, Brembo six-piston pillar calipers, perforated brake discs, an alcantara interior and racing seats.
On top of that, the front seats of the 2023 Zeekr 001 are also heated, ventilated and massaging while rear passengers have access to a 5.7 multi-function touchscreen. The car is also equipped with an advanced driving assistance system complete with active lane change, detours on construction roads as well as autonomous ramp passing.
The best selling variants of the 2023 Zeekr 001 are the dual-motor four-wheel drive versions of the car and these particular models put out 400kW of power and 686Nm of torque. They also have a century sprint time of 3.8 seconds and are powered by a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of either 86kWh or 100kWh.
Furthermore, the The single-motor rear-drive variants of the 2023 Zeekr 001 make 200kW of power and 343Nm of torque. These variants of the car are powered by a CATL Qilin battery, which is the third generation of CATL’s cell-to-pack technology. These batteries have a capacity of either 100kWh or 140kWh. All models support fast charging.
Additionally, these batteries give Zeekr the confidence to claim that their 2023 Zeekr 001 is the world’s longest-cruising-range EV so far with a claimed cruising range of 1,032km. The car will be limited to only 1,000 units and deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of the year.
