Hyundai Creta B-Segment SUV Arrives At RM149,888

This Creta compact SUV arrives fully imported and with a Smartstream 1.5L engine

The first thing that many Malaysians looking for a B-Segment SUV will say is this ‘why is the asking price high?’

Well, this is a fully imported vehicle and with a high value cabin safety and features. This and the exchange rate against the Malaysian Ringgit, puts its cost price up.

So, if you are going to compare this SUV with the current rivals from Japan and also China, you need to take note of the above.

However, why not visit a Hyundai showroom and take the Creta out for a test drive and then decide if it is the SUV for you and your family or you might be ‘tickled’ by the electric vehicle offering from Hyundai and opt for emission free motoring that comes from the Hyundai Kona EV.

By the way, bookings for the Creta started on the 14th of April, 2 weeks ago and there has been promising interest.

PRESS RELEASE The Creta radiates boldness and individuality, especially from its Parametric Jewel front end, where its LED daytime running lights are ‘hidden’ within the prominent grille.

At night, the daytime running lights combine with the bumper-mounted LED projector headlamps to create a visual signature that’s stunning and unmistakably on-trend.

Inside, a plethora of technological features enhance comfort, convenience and drivability, including a 10.25-inch TFT LCD cluster, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and no less than four selectable drive modes that emphasise the versatility of the Creta’s character.

In terms of safety, the Creta comes standard with six airbags and a comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense suite of active safety features, including Forward and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning and High Beam Assist – all of which contribute to its full five-star New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) safety rating.

The Creta’s Smartstream G1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine sends 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm to the front wheels through a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), enabling smooth, efficient and immediate progress. No fewer than four selectable drive modes are at the driver’s disposal – Eco, Normal, Sport and Smart – showing the versatility of the Creta’s character.

“The Hyundai Creta targets the young as well as the young-at-heart with its distinctive combination of contemporary design, connected technology and comprehensive active safety features.

Optimised for the Asia-Pacific market, this B-segment SUV also offers the practicality, space and convenience to suit active lifestyles,” said HSDM Managing Director Mr Low Yuan Lung.

“The Hyundai Creta is priced at RM149,888, on-the-road before insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. To sweeten the deal, we are throwing in a free extended warranty of 5 years/300,000 km as well as 3 years/50,000 km free service for our first 150 buyers!” added Mr Low.
