Volkswagen Golf GTI With New Upgrades Debuts For RM252,990
The Volkswagen Golf GTI now comes with a head up display too
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has introduced the updated Golf GTI, equipped with a Harman Kardon audio system and Head-up Display that projects key information in the immediate field of vision of the driver on the windscreen. These new toys mean the hatchback will now retail at RM252,990.
Vital data such as speed, navigation, and system warnings, keeping drivers informed, allow the driver to absorb essential details without taking their eyes from the road ahead. The new Volkswagen Golf GTI is still powered by a 2.0TSI turbocharged engine coupled with 7-speed wet clutch DSG making 245PS and 370Nm of torque.
Moreover, the new Volkswagen Golf GTI also features sporty 18” Richmond alloy wheels with red brake callipers and full LED headlamps and taillights. Completing its status as a complete hot hatch is the IQ. Drive system, an innovative Driver Assistance System (DAS) system making every journey safer and more comfortable.
Volkswagen’s IQ. Drive consists of Travel Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which uses radar and various sensors to detect vehicles ahead, as well as Side Assist which acts as an active blind spot monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert which warns drivers of potential danger when the reverse gear is engaged.
It also has Front Assist, an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) feature, which uses a radar sensor integrated into the front of the Volkswagen Golf GTI to continuously monitor the distance to the vehicles ahead. It also detects pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road.
On top of that, the Lane Assist function also ensures that the driver stays in one lane, using its camera-based lane-keeping assistant. If the vehicle deviates towards another lane when direction indicators are operated by the driver, the IQ. Drive system automatically intervenes by steering back into line.
The Adaptive Lane Guidance function also keeps the car within its own lane on an ideal line learned from the driver’s driving characteristics. The new Volkswagen Golf GTI is supported with 5 years free maintenance, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years roadside assistance.
The brand is also kicking off its first Volkswagen Tour for the year in Penang. The Tour will happen between 4 and 7 January 2024, at Queensbay Mall. On display during the Tour will be the updated Golf GTI, the Arteon R-Line, the Golf R and Tiguan Allspace R-Line. Test drives are also available at the Tour during this period.
