2025 Toyota Crown Signia Is A New Hybrid Crossover SUV For The USA

Toyota is shaking up the crossover SUV market with the all-new 2025 Crown Signia.

In 2022, Toyota decided that the Crown nameplate needed to be reshaped completely for the export market. Previously, the Crown was sort of a 5 Series for the Japanese Domestic Market. Now it has evolved into a semi-luxurious set of vehicles including a sedan, a crossover, a ‘sporty’ hatch-like body style and now an SUV too.

This SUV version is called the Crown Signia in the USA and here’s what customers there can expect.

Striking Style Inside and Out

The Crown Signia’s flowing silhouette, long sweeping roofline, and wide fenders give it an unmistakably dynamic profile on the road. But the head-turning design isn’t just skin deep.

The spacious interior features premium leather seating, unique color combinations, bronze metallic accents, and loads of tech like a digital gauge cluster and Toyota’s latest Audio Multimedia system.

Hybrid Power and All-Wheel Drive

Under the hood, the Crown Signia packs Toyota’s proven 2.5L hybrid system mated to an electronic on-demand all-wheel drive system.

This efficient powertrain cranks out 240 net system horsepower while achieving an incredible 6.6 L/100km combined fuel economy rating. Despite its thrifty fuel use, the Crown Signia can still tow up to 1,225 kg when properly equipped.

Elevated Capability

With a ground clearance of 170mm, the Crown Signia blends car-like comfort with SUV versatility. The high 645mm seating position makes ingress and egress easy.

The 60/40 split-folding rear seats open up a massive 1.9 cubic meter cargo area. When you need to carry longer items, the rear seats fold completely flat creating over 1.8 meters of storage space.

Premium Amenities

The Crown Signia comes generously equipped across two grades – XLE and Limited. Highlights include:

  • Heated/ventilated leather power seats
  • Panoramic moonroof (Limited)
  • Wireless device charging
  • 11-speaker JBL premium audio (Limited)
  • Digital key smartphone access (Limited)

Toyota’s Connected Services provide cloud navigation, remote vehicle controls, onboard WiFi hotspot, and more.

Advanced Safety Technology

All Crown Signias come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – a comprehensive suite of active safety systems like pre-collision braking, lane keeping assist, and full-speed adaptive cruise control. Additional convenience features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also included.

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia starts at US$43,590.
