The MINI Convertible F67 generation arrives with a petrol engine under the hood.
Convertible models represent freedom, and freedom is best experience free from range anxiety. That’s what MINI Malaysia seems to think as the all-new generation F67 MINI Convertible has been introduced to Malaysia at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 with only a petrol option arriving at RM318,888.

This could have been the cheapest convertible in Malaysia but if it was electric as tax free pricing would have certainly knocked tens of thousands of Ringgit from the price tag.
Unfortunately now it sits as a smaller petrol-powered alternative to the all-electric MG Cyberster at a very similar price point. Unlike the Cyberster, the MINI Cooper Convertible is actually made in the UK. Colour choices include Copper Grey, Sunny Side Yellow, Ocean Wave Green.

The MINI Cooper Convertible is powered by a 2-litre four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of 204hp and 300Nm of torque which is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. While it’s no JCW model, it’s not far off in terms of figures, going from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds to a maximum of 237km/h.

The fabric folding roof, the main attraction, takes 18 seconds to open up and 15 seconds to close and this can be done at speeds of up to 30km/h. There’s an integrated rollover protection system. Boot space shrinks from 215L to 160L depending on the status of the roof. You get much of the same equipment that’s found on the petrol variant included the circular OLED infotainment unit, which is still a rarity in the car world.

Pricing starts at RM318,888 with the two year warranty and can be extended to 4 years with the service and warranty package for an additional RM10,400. What an interesting time for the Malaysian automotive industry as we now have multiple choices for convertible models including a newly updated Mazda MX-5.
