At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, we got to see a preview of the Zeekr 7X, which will take on the Tesla Model Y.
Zeekr may be relatively new to the market but they’ve got their eyes set on the top dogs in the EV game. At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the Geely premium sub-brand previewed the Zeekr 7X – a Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 competitor. They even announced their anticipated pricing for the 7X in each of the three variants they’re looking at bringing in.

In terms of size the Zeekr 7X is 4787mm long from bumper to bumper, 2100mm wide from mirror to mirror, 1650mm tall and it has a 2900mm wheelbase. We obviously do not have the final specifications but there are some interesting equipment options in the global market including active air suspension with continuous damping control which allows you to control the ride height. We should also mention the 800V architecture which is still a rarity in the EV space. Other than that there’s a 13″ digital instrument cluster, a 16″ infotainment unit, twin wireless charging pads and a 21-speaker set-up.

The Zeekr 7X will be available in RWD Standard, RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance variants, roughly mirroring the trend of its rivals. The basic model will be priced at around RM182,000 and likely get its power from a 75kWh LFP battery enabling 480km of WLTP range. That’s already a pretty usable specification. It should be noted that these prices are only for the first 500 customers and the company aims to sell about 1000 of these by the end of 2025.

The mid spec RWD Long Range variant will likely get a 100kWh NMC battery enabling just over 600km of WLTP range. The AWD Performance model should be using this same battery with 543km of WLTP range. 800V architecture allows for very high maximum DC fast charging speeds. 10-80% battery state of charge takes 13 minutes on the base model and 16 minutes on the NMC models.

In terms of motor output and vehicle performance the single motor vehicles have an output of 416 hp enabling a 0-100km/h time of just 6 seconds while the AWD model a total motor output of 630 hp for a century sprint time of 3.8 seconds.
