Panerai Launches New Luna Rossa Watches Ahead of 38th America’s Cup
Luxury Italian watchmaker Panerai proudly announces the renewal of its dynamic partnership with Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, the elite sailing team competing in the 38th America’s Cup. As the official sponsor, Panerai celebrates this continued collaboration with the release of two new high-performance timepieces: the Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 and the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653. The PAM01654 is a limited-edition chronograph (150 pieces) crafted from lightweight yet robust titanium. Powered by Panerai’s P.9100 calibre, it features an automatic flyback chronograph function, a 72-hour power reserve, and a tachymeter scale for nautical applications. With a 44mm case, vertical clutch, column wheel mechanism, and an open sapphire crystal caseback, this watch is engineered for extreme performance. Striking red details, a grey sandwich dial, and the Luna Rossa insignia highlight its sporty aesthetic.
Meanwhile, the PAM01653 offers a more classic design, equipped with the P.6000 hand-wound calibre, offering a three-day power reserve. Built with corrosion-resistant AISI 316LVM stainless steel, this 44mm timepiece features a grey sandwich dial, luminous indices for legibility, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. The Luna Rossa logo is subtly positioned at 6 o’clock, with red accents tying the design to the team’s iconic colors.
Both models are water-resistant up to 10 bar (~100 meters) and come with a bi-material black and grey strap featuring the Luna Rossa stripe, as well as an additional black rubber strap for versatility.
