The Ferrari Amalfi replaces the Ferrari Roma as the V8 2+ coupé in the lineup.
Ferrari has developed a tradition of giving facelift models all new names – the California T became the Portofino, and now the Roma becomes the Amalfi. At a glance, this Amalfi looks sleeker and more futuristic than anything else in the line-up, with the entire front intake grille seemingly deleted and the bumpers and rear light design being ‘smoothed’ over. Stare at it a few more seconds and what you’ll find is the familiar. Most of the old body panels and hardpoints of the Roma are all still intact, it’s just the headlights, bumpers, rims and a few other non-metal components that have been refreshed. That being said, the refresh is pretty major and changes the ‘feel’ of the vehicle somewhat. Let’s explore further.

The Ferrari Amalfi features the latest evolution of the 3.9-litre (3855 cc) twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 640 cv at 7,500 rpm. It introduces a new turbocharging system with independent calibration for each turbo, aided by pressure sensors on each cylinder bank for precise control. Lightweight camshafts (-1.3 kg) and a redesigned, precision-machined engine block contribute to improved efficiency. For the first time, low-viscosity oil is used, reducing cold start resistance by 30%. The eight-speed dual-clutch oil-bath transmission has been optimised with updated software and a new control unit. Sound is enhanced with a revised silencer layout, a flat-plane crankshaft, equal-length exhaust headers, and a ceramic matrix catalyst. A proportionally controlled bypass valve adjusts the exhaust note based on driving conditions using dedicated maps.

The Amalfi introduces a fully revamped HMI system. A new steering wheel brings back physical buttons, including the iconic aluminium start button. The left spoke controls ADAS, voice commands, and phone functions, while the right handles display modes, indicators, and wipers. Behind the wheel, two rotary dials manage audio settings. The system is centered around three displays: a 15.6” digital instrument cluster, a 10.25” central touchscreen for media and vehicle settings, and an 8.8” passenger display with performance metrics. Connectivity includes Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto®, and wireless charging. The MyFerrari Connect system enables remote monitoring of the vehicle via app.

Designed through collaboration between Ferrari’s Thermo-Fluid Dynamics team and Styling Centre, the Amalfi’s aerodynamics focus on reducing drag and improving efficiency. Fairings beneath the front and rear wheels manage airflow, while a bypass duct over the headlights improves engine bay cooling. Vortex generators and integrated splitters enhance downforce and brake ventilation. The rear diffuser is completely redesigned for optimal balance between downforce and drag. A new active rear wing has three automatic modes—Low Drag (LD), Medium Downforce (MD), and High Downforce (HD)—delivering up to 110 kg of added downforce at 250 km/h with minimal drag increase.

Braking is upgraded with a brake-by-wire system, reducing pedal travel and enhancing control. The ABS Evo system uses a 6D sensor to optimize braking performance. The Side Slip Control 6.1 system improves grip estimation via Electric Power Steering, now 10% faster and more precise. A rear active spoiler adjusts automatically based on acceleration and cornering. Advanced ADAS features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Drowsiness Detection, and more, supported by a network of radars, cameras, and sensors.

The Ferrari Amalfi features a sleek, sculpted design shaped from a monolithic form with sharp lines and geometric volumes. A wedge-like side profile and integrated lighting contribute to its modern, refined look. The grille-less front showcases a floating body-coloured wing above a recessed dark band that hides sensors and headlights, while a sporty lower splitter adds width and presence. At the rear, a continuous character line wraps the car, leading to minimalist tail lights and a bold diffuser. The rear screen flows into the spoiler for a distinctive silhouette. The debut colour, Verde Costiera—a vibrant teal inspired by the Amalfi Coast—highlights the car’s dynamic shapes.

Inside, a dual-cockpit layout immerses both driver and passenger in connected, sculptural spaces. The design emphasizes minimalism with a monolithic dashboard integrating the instrument cluster and air vents. The floating central tunnel, milled from anodized aluminium, contains key controls and storage. Door grips blend into wing-like forms, while speakers are hidden behind perforated metal. The Verde Bellagio colour scheme adds vibrancy, especially at the front. Optional comfort seats offer massage and ventilation functions. Enhancing the in-car experience, the optional 14-speaker, 1,200-watt Burmester® Premium Audio System delivers high-fidelity sound with customizable presets.

The Amalfi rides on staggered 20-inch wheels, with 245/35 R20 tyres at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear. Tyres were co-developed with Bridgestone (Potenza Sport) and Pirelli (P ZERO), tailored to deliver maximum performance and grip.
