Has Carro shut down their Dongfeng car showroom just months after opening
A DSF.my reader has just alerted us that the Carro operated Dongfeng car showroom in PJ Midtown (located along Jalan Kemajuan, Seksyen 13, 46200) might be closed. We have messaged people involved in this business and are waiting for an official reply.
When we drove past the showroom last night, the Carro car inspection center next door was open and the JAECOO showroom nearby was also open and buzzing with buyers. Question? Is the Carro after sales center for Dongfeng operating?
Meanwhile, this comes as no real surprise to us as since the launch of Dongfeng 2 months ago in Malaysia, we have not seen any Dongfeng 007 or the VIGO on the road despite their great selling prices and battery technology.

What we do see on the road on occasion is the BOX (or Nammi) which was launched earlier by CADB Importers (the AP holder for Dongfeng in Malaysia) and priced at RM119k initially.
Then as the year progressed, the BOX was heavily discounted price and then again more recently discounted to a low RM78k. Now we hear selling price of the BOX has gone even lower ….. to RM70k which is right next to the TQ Wuling Bingo and Proton e.MAS 5.
Incidentally, on June 16th last year (2025) Carro started their Zeekr new car business with showrooms located in Petaling Jaya, IOI Mall Puchong, and Sunway Pinnacle.
At the time, it was mentioned that in coming months, four new Zeekr Space showrooms under Carro were planned to open in Juru Autocity, Seremban, Klang Valley, and Johor Bahru.
Then on 14th March this year (2026) Carro was appointed an authorised dealer for Dongfeng Motor which is handled by Volt Auto in Singapore and also Malaysia, marking the partnership with the opening of two exclusive showrooms by Carro in Singapore and also Malaysia.
The showrooms, located at Midview City (Singapore) and PJ Midtown (Kuala Lumpur), would be retailing several models starting with the Dongfeng VIGO, sleek looking Dongfeng 007 and city commuter Dongfeng BOX.
With the addition of Dongfeng, Carro represents two Chinese automotive brands, as the company expands its strategy of offering new cars alongside its used-car marketplace.
Incidentally, we at www.dsf.my has always advised Malaysians interested to buy Chinese auto brands to always ….. always look at brands that are represented by their headquarters in China and have a working office in Malaysia. Brands like Chery, Jetour, BYD, Zeekr, Lotus, iCAUR, Jaecoo, Geely, Xpeng, Great Wall Motor and MG SAIC.
Remember NETA and BAIC which were NOT represented by their headquarters in Malaysia? They arrived, big fancy launch, plenty of media coverage, sold some cars and then went quiet with after sales, parts and warranty.
Carro is Asia Pacific’s largest online automotive marketplace and Malaysia’s most trusted used car platform. This collaboration marks yet another significant milestone for the automotive unicorn, as they expand to Brand New car sales in a new market segment.
By the way, did you know that earlier in March 2025, Carro in Singapore started selling parallel-imported cars, which are supported by in-house warranties and aftersales services by Carro Care, as well as in-house financing by Genie Financial Services.
