Let’s see if this new leadership for Volkswagen in Malaysia will translate to more sales
Renate Noessler has been appointed as the first female to lead VPCM’s business and operations, where she will serve as Co-Managing Director alongside Kurt Leitner. In this new leadership role, Renate will also help oversee the direction of sister company PHSAM. Is this due to the boom in popularity of Chinese cars or what?

Anyway, together, they will be responsible for strengthening the position of both Volkswagen and Audi in Malaysia, with a clear focus on driving innovation, enhancing customer experiences, and building on the brands’ local presence. So will we see more sales as a result of this change in leadership or not?
Moreover, Renate brings with her an impressive three decades of experience in the global automotive industry. Her background spans key areas such as sales, marketing, and business consulting. Prior to this appointment, she held the role of General Manager Sales at Audi Singapore.

There, she played a critical role in boosting the brand’s growth across Southeast Asia, demonstrating both strategic insight and deep market understanding. Recognised for her leadership qualities and cross-cultural communication skills, Renate expressed her excitement for the new role with Volkswagen.
She stated, “I am honoured to take on this position and continue working with our customers, dealer partners, media, and stakeholders in Malaysia. With the continued expansion of our networks at both VPCM and PHSAM, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. I am confident that both the Audi and Volkswagen brands will grow and evolve successfully in Malaysia’s dynamic market.”

On top of that, as Renate steps into this role, Denyu Bostandzhiev, who previously led both VPCM and PHSAM since July 2023, moves on to a new leadership position within Porsche Holdings Salzburg (PHS) in Bulgaria. During his time in Malaysia, Denyu played a pivotal role in several major brand initiatives.
These included the launch of the Volkswagen Touareg, various special edition models, and, most recently, the introduction of the locally assembled Audi Q7, a significant milestone for the Audi brand in Malaysia.

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for VPCM and PHSAM, as both companies look toward the future with a renewed commitment to brand growth, customer engagement and market innovation under Renate Noessler’s guidance.
