Is Emily Lek Leaving OMODA JAECOO For A Bigger Challenge

Emily Lek went from the 3 pointed star to a newbie brand and next its …….

Yes, whispers on the showroom floor across all OMODA JAECOO showrooms nationwide is that the unforgettable Vice President of iCAUR and JAECOO has decided to seek greater challenges in the Malaysian automotive industry.

Her invaluable experience from years at Mercedes-Benz (last role was Head Of Sales Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) gave a new perspective to JAECOO management in China and this brought success to the brand with almost 18,000 units (July 2025 was already 17k plus units) delivered in just 1 year plus from starting operations. (take note that Emily was at HSBC and Deutsche Bank before Mercedes-Benz).

Legendary automotive brands and also segment rivals witnessed how this quick thinking lady brought in a completely new ‘player’ to the popular mid-priced Malaysian SUV segment and just rocked it month after month, launch after launch.

Yes, there were 4 new SUV’s launched by her and then came the iCAUR electric vehicle brand which she took on with her strong committed team. Yes, she has also put together a very strong team to handle the OMODA JAECOO brand rise and keep its momentum going.

Now with ‘whispers’ on her impending departure, it looks like there will be very large shoes (but small in size) to be filled at OMODA JAECOO Malaysia.

Meanwhile, her new role will be very interesting, as many auto brand may be decades old in the country but they have been severely neglected in recent years due to many reasons.

We wait and see what happens. Meanwhile, you heard this news first at www.dsf.my and we wish Emily Lek all the very best in her new office (which is a brand that will impress Malaysians with their varied range of new energy vehicles) and wonder if an invitation to test drive her latest electric vehicles from her new office will be accorded to us very soon.

Question? Who will be the person replacing Emily Lek to launch the all new JAECOO J5 compact SUV.
