The JAC Maextro S800 is a Chinese ultra-luxury electric sedan co-developed by Huawei and JAC Group. It is available in both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants and features a spacious interior with high-tech amenities. The vehicle is designed to compete with luxury brands like the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and Bentley Continental.
At its product presentation, JAC planners even mentioned Rolls Royce Ghost, BMW i7 and the Mercedes EQS as its immediate rivals.
There was no mention of any Chinese automotive rival, and we know that there are a few after visiting the recent 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Our observations lead to the JAC Maextro S800’s main rivals including the Yangwang U7, the NIO ET9, the Luxeed S7 and Stelato S9. We must not forget the Hongqi H9 which is also a Chinese-made luxury sedan that competes in a similar segment, though often with a more traditional design.

Well, The Maextro S800 like its latest sibling, the JAC Define S, is packed with advanced technology from Huawei and is available in both pure electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations.
The S800 offers both BEV and EREV variants with all-wheel drive, featuring dual or even tri-motor setups that deliver power outputs up to 635 kW (852 hp).

It is a large vehicle, measuring 5,480 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm, offering a spacious cabin available in both 4-seat and 5-seat configurations.
The car is built on the Tuling Longxing platform which is an industry-first intelligent digital chassis developed in collaboration with Huawei. It features a self-developed intelligent digital chassis and dual-chamber air suspension for a true carpet ride experience.
For enhanced manoeuvrability, especially given the vehicle’s large size, the S800 includes a rear-wheel steering system with a maximum range of 12 degrees, enabling a tight turning radius (as small as 3.8 meters in a special mode) and
There is an advanced active suspension system with a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear setup, dual-chamber air suspension and continuous damping control. It incorporates Huawei’s Xmotion body control system for real-time adjustments to road conditions and a height-adjustable system that can lift the body up to 45 mm. The suspension is designed to work with rear-wheel steering to minimise body roll, lift, and dive, while improving handling and ride comfort.
The cabin is designed with premium materials like genuine leather, wood, and crystal accents, a “starry sky” ceiling, a built-in refrigerator, and a 2,920-watt, 43-speaker Huawei Sound audio system.
This Huawei Sound audio has advanced algorithms that allow front and rear passengers to listen to completely different audio content simultaneously with minimal interference (claimed 30dB isolation).
Rear seats feature exciters that vibrate in sync with music and video content, adding a tactile dimension to the experience. A motorised tweeter rises from the dashboard and uses ambient lighting synchronised with the music, improving sound uniformity.
A uniquely rotated woofer design intended to reduce panel resonance and enhance bass and it has a patented design that uses the entire cabin space for deeper bass extension
Rear passengers in the 4-seat version benefit from a retractable 40-inch screen for privacy and entertainment.
The S800 is equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4.0 advanced driver-assistance system, incorporating 36 sensors including four LiDAR units for advanced autonomous driving capabilities. It also features intelligent electric doors that use radar to detect obstacles.
