Genting Highlands illegal race track gets shut down by JPJ and Police
The Bentong District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division together with the Department of Road Transport (JPJ), National Anti-drug Agency (AADK) and the Department of Environment (JAS) recently conducted an integrated (joint effort) ‘Luxury Vehicle Operation’ at Genting Highlands Entry Toll Plaza starting at 6.00 am which is the time many car clubs and attention seeking YouTubers make their runs to get high volume of views and at the same time endanger the lives of other road users, especially motorcyclist who get passed by their high performance vehicles at high speed.
The operation was carried out to focus on luxury sports vehicles that make the Genting Highlands course a location for racing and dangerous driving that could threaten the safety of other road users.
Inspections and enforcement actions have been carried out involving various offences including driving license, motor vehicle license, insurance cover, non-specification vehicle modifications, excessive exhaust noise and other technical and traffic offences.

In addition, the inspection also involves screening tests by AADK and monitoring of noise pollution (exhaust noise) by the Department of Environment.
Such operations will be continued from time to time to ensure compliance with road laws and improve the level of safety of road users especially in tourist-focused areas and hill top resorts.
