Volkswagen Jln Ipoh by Amcorp Auto To Widen The VW Reach
Amcorp Auto Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Amcorp Group Bhd, opened its first 3S Volkswagen centre in Jalan Ipoh recently. The opening marks the first venture of the Amcorp Group Bhd into the automotive retailing market and was officiated by Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim, Chairman of Amcorp Group Bhd, and Mr. Andreas Prinz, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM).
Speaking at the opening Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim said “It is a small beginning but I hope in time to come the company will be able to contribute further to the growth of the industry”.
The dealership agreement with VGM means that Amcorp Auto Sdn Bhd will be selling the latest range of Volkswagen vehicles from its showroom as well as providing servicing and repair facilities for all Volkswagen vehicles.
“Amcorp Auto is an example of a dynamic entrepreneur with a high standard of professionalism, sharp business sense and a commitment to customer service. Selling a Volkswagen is more than just about closing the sale as it is the overall ownership experience that builds brand loyalty,” said Mr. Andreas Prinz.
“It is therefore vital for us to have partners of a high standing, like Amcorp Auto who understand these requirements and are capable of meeting our stringent levels of quality,” he added.
The Volkswagen Jalan Ipoh 3S centre by Amcorp Auto meet all current Volkswagen corporate image standards and is located on a spacious stand-alone plot in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Among its features are 5000sq.ft of showroom space to showcase the latest Volkswagen vehicles, a large 8000 sq. ft service area and a 7500 sq ft fully covered storage area for new vehicles.
Other notable features include a specially designated air conditioned delivery room where customers will inspect and be fully briefed prior to taking delivery of their new Volkswagen and a customer lounge that will serve refreshments and have free Wi-Fi facilities for customers while waiting.
“The investment by Amcorp into the automotive retail market does not end with this 3S centre in Jalan Ipoh as there could be greater participation or larger investments in the industry by the company in the future,” added Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim. VGM posted its highest recorded sales figures in 2010 and for the first quarter 2011 sold 1099 units which represented another new high for the period. Commenting on their long term goals, VGM Mr. Andreas Prinz said, “Malaysians buy the most passenger cars in the Asean region and thus their expectations of customer service and product quality are very high. Volkswagen Group Malaysia has a long term goal to grow the Volkswagen brand into one of the leading non-national brands in the country and having partners like Amcorp Auto will go a long way towards achieving this aim.”
