Ford S-MAX MPV Arrives In Malaysia At A Great Price Option
Ford yesterday announced the August arrival in Malaysia of its S-MAX multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) equipped with Ford’s technologically-advanced and powerful 2.0L Duratec EcoBoost petrol engine. A cut above the rest, the S-MAX is a high-quality and well-equipped crossover that is spacious and provides a superior driving experience with excellent road handling. With fresh interior and exterior designs and a host of driver-focused technologies, the new Ford S-MAX presents an unrivaled offering with exceptional versatility that makes it an ideal vehicle for families or those pursuing a more adventurous lifestyle.
Power and Economy
Drivers will appreciate the exceptional performance of the 2.0L Duratec EcoBoost petrol engine in the S-MAX, which delivers 20 percent more power while helping to achieve up to 20 percent better fuel economy and 15 percent lower CO2 emissions. The Duratec EcoBoost engine packs a maximum power of 203 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 300 Nm, with a top speed of 221 Kph. The S-MAX also features Ford’s innovative dual-clutch PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission that is mated with Sportsmode and Sequential Sport Shift to assist the S-MAX in achieving superior fuel efficiency. “The PowerShift transmission provides the seamless convenience of an automatic with the responsive efficiency of a manual gearbox, helping to deliver an exceptionally smooth performance,” said David Filipe, Chief Engineer of Engine Programs, Ford of Europe.
More Distinctive Design
A careful balance of modern new colours and leather upholstery delivers a luxurious and dynamic feel. An eight-way electronic seat adjustor with memory function for the driver allows convenient and comfort. The Fold Flat Seating system makes luggage space even bigger, ideal for the next golf tour. The S-MAX offers a luxurious space of 285 cubic litres with all seats folded up and up to 1,171 cubic litres available in ‘five-seat’ mode, greatly enhancing its ability to suit any travel need.
New Features Further Enhance Safety and Comfort
The new S-MAX has been designed to offer customers a first-rate travelling experience with greater safety and comfort enhancements. The S-MAX also earned the highest five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating for adult occupant protection.The new S-MAX features extensive applications of Light Emitting Diode technology that provide LED rear combination lamps and daytime running lights on the front of the vehicle. At the front and rear of the vehicle are Four Eye Parking Sensors, to aid drivers in parking in tight spots and prevent accidents.
Pricing
Pricing for the Ford S-MAX 2.0L with EcoBoost is estimated to be between RM185,000.00 to RM188,000.00 (On-the-road with insurance, private registration for Peninsular Malaysia). All Ford S-MAX models will come with a three-year warranty and three-year free service maintenance package (or 60,000km, whichever comes first). Available in all authorized Ford showrooms from August 2011.
