Alfa MiTo and Giulietta Get All Wheel Drive

Alfa has added a four wheel drive system to the MiTo and Giulietta models. The system is Alfa’s innovative D.N.A. system, which features an All-Weather driving mode. The Alfa MiTo and Giulietta ranges get the intelligent Vehicle Dynamic Control. Drivers can choose from ‘D’ (Dynamic), ‘N’ (Natural) and ‘A’ (All-Weather) driving modes. When the car is in All-Weather mode, the ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) system constantly tracks the tire grip, its yaw and the steering angle. When necessary, the system narrows the throttle opening and the brakes are applied to the individual wheels to sustain stability. Simultaneously, the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) system turns more intrusive, perfect for conditions where wheels could be on both snow and tarmac.

In addition, a Split control function permits the car to discover traction and control at the same time on two totally diverse road conditions. This works together with the DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) feature that offers steering torque movements to initiate the natural correction of oversteer. Lastly, Hydraulic Brake Assistance also raises the braking pressure and as a result, it lessens the braking distances in an emergency.

Innovations like the Alfa D.N.A. system assist in making Alfa Giulietta into one of the safest models in its class with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, which includes an 86% score in the Safety Assist category.
