BMW 330i M Sport Now in CKD Form – RM40k Cheaper

BMW Malaysia today unveiled the locally-assembled BMW 330i M Sport, which comes with the same specifications as the imported version that was launched earlier this year.

When BMW Malaysia launched this G20 3-Series in March 2019 there was a lot of negative social media chatter about the high selling price of RM328,000 and the lack of features that many BMW owners have grown used to.

This negative chatter was further aggravated because the previous 3-Series, the 330e was a plug-in hybrid that enjoyed tax incentives allowing its selling price to start from RM258,000 fully loaded. Now with this local assembled version at RM288,800 there should be more showroom activity from the wait and see buyers in Malaysia

Exterior-wise, the sport sedan comes with adaptive LED headlights with Bi-LED technology, 18-inch 790 M light alloy wheels in bi-colour Orbit Grey finish, blue calipers with the M logo, along with rear spoiler lip and two 90-mm tailpipes.

Inside, there’s an M Sport multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather, paddle shifters and ambience lighting. Other key features include Intelligent Personal Assistant, Digital Key, Park Assist and Reverse Assist.

Also available is the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which combines a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch touch sensitive Control Display.

Powered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine that generates 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, the sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h thanks to the updated 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

Owners can look forward to a lighter, more rigid vehicle as the total weight has been reduced by 25 kilograms. The rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment have been enhanced as well, with a 50:50 axle load distribution and a low centre of gravity.

The 330i M Sport will be available include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Mineral Grey. Colour offerings in Portimao Blue will be available from January 2020 onwards while Sunset Orange from March 2020 onwards.

The retail price (OTR without insurance) for the locally-assembled 330i M Sport is RM288,800. The price includes BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, it can be owned with monthly installment plans starting from RM3,298 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
