Toyota Hilux Gets Gazoo Racing Parts

The rugged Toyota Hilux gets performance parts for the GR look and feel.

While we patiently wait for UMW Toyota Motor to launch the updated Toyota Hilux, Toyota’s official motorsport arm, Gazoo Racing has introduced a range of accessories for the pickup truck that takes its ruggedness to a whole new level.

For starters, customers in Japan may opt for the basic styling package for 305,800 yen (approximately RM11,990). It comprises a hard cover for the bed, sports bars, power retracting step boards and steel front and rear skid plates in racy red. As an alternative, each of these parts can be had separately.

Additionally, the Gazoo Racing catalogue also lists rally-style mud flaps, door handle protectors and twin-exit exhaust pipes to make the Hilux look even more menacing. Those who like to enjoy some tunes while driving can also go for JBL speakers at 46,200 yen (approximately RM1,810).

Gazoo Racing has various type of bed covers for owners who are looking to secure their cargo, including a flip-up tonneau cover and a camper shell with several window configurations.

Fortunately, this package is not all aesthetics as Gazoo Racing is also offering thicker front and rear anti-roll bars that will help improve the truck’s ride and handling. No performance upgrades for the engine, though.

In Malaysia, the facelifted Hilux will be offered in five variants with estimated prices ranging from RM93,880 to RM148,880. Positioned at the top of the range is the new Hilux 2.8 Rogue, which is powered by a reworked 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine that produces 204 PS and 500 Nm.

Safety has also been improved on some variants with the addition of Toyota Safety Sense technology that includes Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Yaw Assist.
