Isuzu MU-X Achieves 5 Star ANCAP Safety Rating

The Isuzu MU-X 7-seater has received the maximum safety rating from the ANCAP.

The Isuzu MU-X is a the company’s answer to the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Everest. It’s a pick-up based 7-seater from Isuzu that’s popular in Thailand and sold elsewhere in the world too. Malaysians may not be too familiar with the Isuzu MU-X, but the 7-seater passenger pickup vehicle (PPV) was on sale in the country in the previous generation for a time.

The latest MU-X is based on the all-new D-Max platform and it has been making waves in Australia. One aspect of it that has come to impress is safety.

Based on the Australasian New Car Assessment Program under the latest and most stringent protocols, the new MU-X did extremely well, garnering 5 stars.

This was in large part down to the introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, also available on variants of the D-Max.

These Advanced Driver Assistance Systems include:

  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Turn Assist
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
  • Intelligent Speed Limiter (ISL)
  • Manual Speed Limiter (MSL)
  • Attention Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
  • Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
  • Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK)
  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
