Why All Mazda Vehicles In Malaysia Use Activ-e Film By ICE-μ
‘Skytint’ has undergone a rebranding exercise to be called Activ-e, and it is still the same great window tint.
Mazda is a pretty unique company globally, and even more so locally. Together with Bermaz, they’ve managed to take a huge bite of the non-national car segment in a very unique way.
Their products have a higher perceived value than most of the direct competition and they add a lot of value in ways that only discerning owners recognise. One of the ways they’ve done this is with their window tint, ACTIV-e Film, which comes pre-installed on Mazda models sold in Malaysia.
ACTIV-e Film by ICE-μ has been used on Mazda products for many years as ‘Skytint‘. It recently underwent a rebranding exercise, but is still the same made-in-Japan window tint used by Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd.
The film is manufactured by Riken Technos Corporation of Japan – a leading plastic film and auto parts maker and it is distributed in Malaysia by Jasa Sarjana Sdn. Bhd.
Riken Technos developed a film that would cater specifically to Mazda products in the Malaysian climate. The new brand name of the tint film was chosen as it reflects the features that Mazda requested for our market.
First of all, ACTIV-e Film actively blocks ultraviolet and infrared waves from the sun. This reduces degradation of materials in Mazda interiors and reduces the heat that gets transmitted into the car while allowing sufficient visible light in to pass JPJ’s VLT regulations.
Then there’s the ‘e’ in its name represents ‘electrons’ and the nanotechnology that’s engineered into the film at a molecular level. The ‘e’ in the name also represents the environmental focus of this film. By blocking heat, less energy is used to run the vehicle’s compressor, which results in a lower carbon footprint.
Many manufacturers still don’t ship their vehicles with any tint on at all, but Mazda is one of the few OEMs that have gone out of their way to not only provide a tint film that is compliant with JPJ’s standards, but one that also meets their standards for heat, UV and infrared rejection.
ACTIV-e Film by ICE-μ is one of Riken Technos best products it’s one of the many ways that Mazda adds value to their products.
