Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e Coupé Previewed In Malaysia, Order Books Open

Keen to get in on some last minute SST-free deals? Well, look no further than the new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia managed to squeeze the launch in just before the expiration date of the sales tax free period and order books are now open for this plug-in hybrid electric compact luxury SUV model. Book it before the end of June 2022 and enjoy a pricetag of RM374,073.67 as long as the car is delivered before April 2023. Pricing will go up to RM398,888. That’s a savings of RM24,814.33 just by making your purchase decision in the next few days.
The GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé is essentially a plug-in hybrid variant of the existing GLC Coupé, which has been on offer in Malaysia in multiple options in CKD form. This will be the first ever plug-in hybrid variant of the GLC. Other variants include the GLC 200, 300, AMG 43 and AMG 63 models.
Though it is badged as a ‘300’, the powertrain in this model is pretty impressive thanks to the marriage of a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol motor and an electric motor. It has 320PS and 700Nm of torque on tap, giving it instant acceleration and a 0-100km/h time of just 5.7 seconds. It can be driven on pure electric energy up to 140km/h for 40km when it’s fully charged up and driven with a light foot.
Besides the powertrain, the new GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé is equipped with a contoured diamond radiator grille with integrated star and a single louvre, Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, AMG Line and Night Package accessories, 20″ AMG 5-twin spoke light-alloy wheels, and larger front disc brakes.
Inside, you’ll find open-pore black ash wood on the centre console and light longitudinal grain aluminium trim pieces. AMG Line interior and leather upholstery with multifunction sports steering in premium nappa leather is featured, along with ambient lighting, Artico man-made leather for the door cards and dashboard, 4-way lumbar support for the front seats and illuminate “Mercedes-Benz” lettering on the door sill panels. MBUX is featured on the infotainment along with an all-digital instrument cluster with EQ branding.
The GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé features Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Active Brake Assist, along with the Parking Package with a 360-degree camera, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, and more.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia are packaging the GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé with a charging cable for domestic charging as standard for up to 1.8kW home charging through 3-pin socket. It can also be charged at public charging stations.
