10-Seater Hyundai Staria Is Coming Later This Year

The Hyundai Staria will come to Malaysia in a more affordable 10-seater configuration in Q4 2022.

When the Hyundai Staria was first shown online, it received loads of praise for its space-age design and high-perceived quality. It was a big step up from the Hyundai Starex, which felt and looked a lot more commercial in nature. The Staria then arrived in Malaysia, but carried a price tag of RM358,888. In contrast, the fully-imported 10-seater Kia Carnival arrived in Malaysia for under RM200,000.

Now, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has decided to also bring in a 10-seater variant of their Staria in order to benefit from the lower taxes associated with commercial vehicles. While the 7-seater came in just one flavour, the 2.2 Premium, the 10-seater will come in three variants – Lite, Plus and Max. Pricing is estimated to begin at RM17X,XXX. It can be booked today for RM1,000. Call Hyundai’s Customer Careline (1-300-13-2000) for more information.

Available in three variants, namely Lite, Plus and Max. Pricing is estimated to start from RM17X,XXX with a booking fee of RM1,000. As before, the engine is a 2.2 litre turbo diesel with 177PS and 431Nm of torque which sends power through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

It also shares the same futuristic design language as the 7-seater with its low-set headlamps, parametric pixel rear lamps and large glass pieces.

“We have been getting enquiries for the 10-seater variant as there has been anticipation that the 10-seater variant will replace the Starex. Like the Starex, this 10-seater variant is ideal for big families, tour operators and businesses but with vast improvements and more functionalities in every aspect of the vehicle as compared to the Starex,” said Mr. Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of HSDM.

The on the 10-seater version of the Staria, there’s a lot of versatility. It has some of the best legroom in the segment and can be converter for more cargo space by pushing all the seats together using their sliding funciton. What’s more, there’s a full-flat mode for the rear passenger seats, making it perfect for activities that require a lot of room and interior flexibility
