The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 Lands In Malaysia From Around RM1 Million
The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 embodies the joys of a roadster without compromise
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the new Mercedes-AMG SL 43, the brand’s best known roadster, now made sportier, more luxurious and stunning than ever before. In the 70 years of its development history, the SL transformed itself from a thoroughbred racecar to an open-top luxury sports car but never lost its identity.
The new Mercedes-AMG SL 43 also marks another milestone in the model’s history by combining distinct AMG sportiness with the luxury and technological excellence of the modern Mercedes-Benz models. This new entry-level model is also the world’s first series-produced vehicle to feature an electric exhaust gas turbocharger.
Moreover, this technology is actually used in Formula 1 and solves the trade-off between a small, fast responding supercharger that achieves comparatively low peak power and a large supercharger with high peak power that only responds delayed, thus making for a more enjoyable and smooth drive.
Opening and closing the three-layer fabric soft top, which comes in black takes only about 15 seconds thanks to the space-saving Z-fold, and can be operated at speeds of up to 60km/h so you can quickly drop the top of the car quickly and seamlessly in any situation.
On top of that, the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 also comes equipped with the brand’s signature DIGITAL LIGHT, sports suspension, and integrated, automatically extending rear wing. The Driving Assistance Package and Parking package with reversing camera is also included.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 also features an exciting combination of analogue geometry and the digital world, known as “hyperanalogue.” This is exemplified by the fully digital instrument cluster, which is integrated into a three-dimensional visor.
Meanwhile, the standard MBUX infotainment system offers a choice of several specific display styles and different modes. The symmetrical instrument panel is designed to look like a powerful wing and structured into an upper and lower section which perfectly complement the four round airplane styled air con vents.
The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 is also equipped with sports suspension as standard making it the first ever production vehicle from Mercedes-AMG to feature a multi-link front axle with five links arranged entirely within the rim, improving kinematics. At the rear axle, a 5-link design likewise controls the wheels.
With an extensive list of standard equipment, the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 offers a plethora of unique add-ons from sporty and dynamic to luxuriously elegant. This includes twelve paint finishes including the two exclusive SL colours hyper blue metallic and MANUFAKTUR monza grey magno.
