Lamborghini Unveils The New Lanzador Concept As Its 2+2 High Riding GT
Lamborghini unveiled this Lanzador concept car at the 2023 Monterey Car Week
Remember when we talked about a rumour that Lamborghini would be building a new 2+2 four-door which some claimed would be an SUV and others a sedan, well, Lamborghini has unveiled the concept version of that very car and it appears everyone was wrong as the brand calls it a “high ground-clearance GT.”
Lamborghini unveiled the Lanzador concept at the 2023 Monterey Car Week, a concrete vision of a future purely-electric fourth series production Lamborghini and despite whatever the italian style icon calls it, we all know that from looking at it, the car seems to be a two-door crossover.
Moreover, the concept car fits in with Lamborghini’s “Direzione Cor Tauri” strategy and its road map towards decarbonization and electrification announced in 2021, following the V12 plug-in hybrid Revuelto, the Lanzador gives an insight into the series model to be built from 2028.
The concept car combines the inherent performance of a Lamborghini super sports car with an enhanced fun-to-drive personality, plus the versatility of a daily driver. The Lanzador also creates an original driving experience for a rising cluster of ‘tech forerunner’ customers.
Automobili Lamborghini committed more than two years ago to presenting a high-performance, electrified Lamborghini within this decade that remains true to the heart and soul of the brand but we all know that the brand is going fully electric sooner or later.
On top of that, a high specific power electric motor on each axle in the Lamborghini Lanzador concept ensures permanent all-electric drive in every condition, surface and driving style and a peak power of over one megawatt. Power is provided by a new generation high-performance battery, which also ensures a long range.
The all-wheel drive system on the concept car also offers active e-torque vectoring on the rear axle for particularly dynamic cornering behavior, extremely finely tuned and adapted for every situation. Lamborghini is synonymous with unique and absolutely recognisable design DNA, and the design of this concept is also easily recognisable.
With the Lanzador concept, Lamborghini looks into the future. The concept car describes new proportions and represents a new car segment, the Ultra GT. Seen not only in the exterior but in the innovations of the interior, offering a new Lamborghini experience in terms of space and roominess as well as style, form and function.
The Lamborghini Lanzador concept offers a glimpse into the future of Lamborghini and the brand’s new portfolio of electric vehicles in the distant future and I, for one, am not disappointed at all with how this future looks. What do you guys think?
