BMW Motorrad Malaysia has officially launched the All-New BMW R 12 nineT, beefing up its motorcycle portfolio to meet the ever growing tastes of Malaysian riders. Blending iconic heritage with modern technology, this new model redefines the classic roadster segment with premium performance and extensive customization potential.
The All-New BMW R 12 nineT embodies BMW’s rich motorcycle tradition, delivering a dynamic riding experience with timeless styling. Built around a newly developed tubular steel space frame, the bike features a cleaner, more minimalist design by eliminating unnecessary fastenings.
Moreover, a matching tubular steel rear frame is bolted to the main chassis, maintaining structural integrity while enhancing aesthetics. Its silhouette is defined by an aluminium fuel tank with brushed side panels, a compact seat and a sculpted rear. Its inverted front fork, radial brake calipers and twin-disc front brakes ensure responsive handling and confident stopping power.
Classic 17-inch cast alloy wheels and chrome-plated exhaust headers highlight its distinctive character, while a slightly forward rider position offers improved ergonomics and better control. Powering the BMW R 12 nineT is a 1,170cc air- and oil-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine, producing 109hp and 115Nm of torque.
A 6-speed claw-shift transmission and hydraulically operated dry clutch also deliver smooth, consistent power. The bike accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 200 km/h, while maintaining a fuel consumption rate of 5.1 l/100km (WLTP).
On top of that, advanced safety and rider aids come standard, including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), BMW Motorrad ABS Pro for cornering support, and LED lighting with Headlight Pro for adaptive illumination. The bike also features a USB-C port, a 12V socket and twin analogue gauges for a balanced blend of old-school charm and modern functionality.
Connectivity and comfort are key highlights, with standard features like Keyless Ride and Connected Ride Control. The Comfort Package adds Cruise Control, Heated Grips, and Hill Start Control, while three riding modes, anmely Rain, Road and Dynamic, offer tailored performance for varying conditions.
Finished in a classic Black Storm Metallic, the All-New BMW R 12 nineT is priced at RM124,500 (on the road, excluding insurance), inclusive of a 3-Year Warranty and Roadside Assistance.
