The All New Hyundai Kona Gets A Bolder EV-led Design
The whole Hyundai Kona range is now more dynamic
Hyundai Motor Company has just revealed the all new futuristic design for the new generation of the Kona subcompact SUV and it is stunning. The new design is derived from electric vehicles (EVs) and this car will be available in four variants which consist of EV, hybrid and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains.
The all-new Hyundai Kona will also be made available in a sporty N line trim and all models regardless of powertrain will follow a universal architecture but will all come with a unique styling. Plus with the EV-led styling, Hyundai brings its commitment to sustainable mobility to the forefront with the Kona.
Moreover, SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center stated, “Upscaled with KONA’s unique character, the all-new KONA confidently expresses its bold and dynamic presence. KONA has evolved in every respect to embrace an even wider range of diversity, to become a true lifestyle supporter.”
On top of that, the all-new Hyundai Kona has evolved into a larger SUV with more urban styling but remains an urban-centric vehicle. This gives the car a more dynamic road presence while on the inside, one is met by a driver-focused interior that is not only beautiful but also practical. This also provides passengers with more space.
The all new Hyundai Kona is now also 150mm longer than before and is also 25mm wider and has a 60mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model as well. All of this ensures that all passengers in the car can enjoy more space and really stretch out and be comfortable without the car losing its iconic design identity.
Furthermore, the all new Hyundai Kona was also designed right from the beginning to be an EV which is not usually the case for vehicles with multiple powertrains. However, it is this unusual approach that allowed Hyundai to bring to life the tech-centred design that gives all variants of this SUV a distinctive futuristic style.
Additionally, the Hyundai Kona is also an SUV through and through and it never lets one forget it despite the futuristic styling of the vehicle. The dynamic styling of the car is further accentuated with the boldly sculpted wheel arch cladding that reinforces the robust underpinning of the vehicle to add to this effect.
The futuristic theme continues on the inside where the Hyundai Kona greets passengers with 12.3 inch dual wide displays and ambient lighting to enhance the mood. The most futuristic part however, is the shift-by-wire transmission that is now behind the steering wheel rather than on the centre console.
