Only 270 units of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 were made
The Polestar 2 BST edition 270 is a limited-edition of 270 units, and started its life as a passion project and it perfectly exemplifies the automotive spirit etched into the Polestar brand’s DNA and it is a proper representation of the brand’s performance prowess and engineering brilliance.
In 2020, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath let his passion for cars run free and envisioned a special version of the Polestar 2, one that would would combine electric performance with sports fun. More than happy to turn his idea into reality, designers and engineers create a one-off experimental car, nicknamed “The Beast.”
Moreover, the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 was built using meticulously selected parts to enhance handling and power delivery. Featuring bigger wheels, colour-matched bodywork and a lower stance, the car makes is not only easy on the eyes, but also optimized for sportiness. Especially in the Gothenburg area, where Ingenlath uses it as his daily driver.
Polestar Chief Chassis Engineer, Joakim Rydholm, demonstrated the capabilities of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 by competing against the clock on Goodwood’s famous 1.1 mile hill climb track. Needless to say, the car did very well and impressed everyone with its exceptional quality.
The exceptional quality and outstanding performance of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is a result of many high quality parts and sporty changes made to the car such as Akebono brakes, custom Ohlins 3-way adjustable dampers, stiffened springs, front- and rear strut bars and a 30 mm lower ride height.
On top of that, the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 also features excellent responsiveness and tight handling along with updated bumpers and side skirts, widened wheel arches, impressive 9×21-inch Polestar 1 wheels and 275/30R21 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres, and so much more.
What’s more, the experimental but stylish looks of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 was positively received at Goodwood. This led a decision to be made made to develop a limited edition production version, which was increased to 270 while staying as close as possible to the original car.
This then led to many months of obsessive tuning, collaborating with the suspension specialists at Ohlins and tyre technicians at Pirelli to perfect the handling characteristics of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270. The result is the aptly nicknamed “The Beast.”
