PRO-NET Teases New EV Model, e.MAS 5 At Malaysia Autoshow 2025

Will the e.MAS 5 prove to be better value than the e.MAS 7 did?

PRO-NET, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Proton, is making waves at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, running from 9–15 May at MAEPS Serdang. Showcasing alongside Proton, PRO-NET highlights its growing leadership in electric vehicles (EVs), underlining the brand’s shift toward a more innovative and sustainable future.

A major highlight is the debut of PRO-NET’s latest EV, wrapped in a striking camouflage design. Unveiled in a special media ceremony, the vehicle was revealed to be the Proton e.MAS 5, a compact EV designed for younger drivers and first-time EV buyers. Slated for launch in Q4 2025, the e.MAS 5 should offer a more accessible entry point into EVs for young Malaysians.

Moreover, the e.MAS 5 aligns with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets 80 percent of new vehicle sales to be electrified by 2050. Smaller and more agile than the e.MAS 7, the new model maintains the intelligence, tech, and forward-thinking design that defines the e.MAS family.

Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET also stated, “The e.MAS 5 is a bold step into the future—youthful, vibrant, and built to electrify the next generation’s driving experience. It’s more than just a car; it’s a symbol of how we’re making EVs more exciting and accessible for all Malaysians.”

On top of that, to build momentum, PRO-NET launched the “Electrify Your Life” Campaign and Contest, running from 8 May to 31 July 2025. Malaysians can submit creative slogans at https://emaselectrifycontest.pronet.my, visit e.MAS dealerships for test drives and earn multiple entries to win prizes, including a brand-new e.MAS 5 as the grand prize.

Participants can explore the e.MAS 5 and e.MAS 7 at roadshows across Malaysia, including stops at TRX Mall (KL), Gurney Paragon (Penang), AEON Melaka, Paradigm JB and Central i-City (Shah Alam), where the winner will be announced on 24 August. Of course, you can also check it out at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 at MAEPS, Serdang from 9 to 15 May 2025.

PRO-NET also marked the successful conclusion of the ASEAN Unity Drive, a landmark 9,000km EV expedition across nine ASEAN countries in 16 days. Supported by MITI and MARii, the convoy featured the e.MAS 7, Proton X50 and X70, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to regional EV leadership and sustainable mobility.
