PRO-NET, a wholly owned subsidiary of PROTON, has officially announced that the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV in its striking new Emerald Green colour is now available at showrooms across Peninsular Malaysia. This latest addition to the colour palette comes as demand for the electrified crossover continues to surge, following its successful launch earlier this year.
Rapid Market Adoption and Growing Demand
The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has seen significant momentum in the Malaysian market. As of 31 March 2026, the brand has recorded over 4,900 bookings. Registration and delivery efforts have also accelerated, with more than 740 units registered to date. Notably, in March alone, 646 units were delivered to customers, reinforcing Proton e.MAS’s position as a leading brand in the national EV ecosystem.
A clear shift in consumer behaviour is evident, as 63% of current e.MAS 7 owners traded in their existing internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, specifically compact SUVs and sedans, to make the switch to electrification.
EM-i Advanced Hybrid Technology: Efficiency for Local Needs
Tailored specifically for Malaysian driving conditions, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is powered by EM-i Advanced Hybrid Technology. This system offers a practical solution for managing fuel costs amid evolving subsidy structures like BUDI95.
Key performance and efficiency figures include:
- Fuel Consumption: As low as 4.3L/100km.
- Electric-Only Range: Up to 105km for the Prime and Premium variants, and up to 170km for the Premium Plus variant.
- Total Driving Range: A combined range of 1,065km, offering long-distance flexibility without the need for frequent refuelling.
Expanding Ecosystem and Availability
The new Emerald Green variant is currently available in Peninsular Malaysia, with availability in East Malaysia expected to follow soon. Customers can place bookings at authorised dealerships starting from 17 April 2026 or register their interest via the official Proton e.MAS website.
