Since the introduction of the first-generation model in 1999, as the first mass-production hybrid model of Honda, Insight pioneered a new era of hybrid vehicles. For older Honda hybrid models, please note that while the engine is very reliable, battery replacement remains a key consideration, with costs for a new battery unit now reduced to approximately RM5,000 with installation, owners can keep running their 2nd generation older Honda Insight (pictured below) for years.
